Why SIA licensing matters

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) regulates the private security industry in the UK under the Private Security Industry Act 2001. Working without the required licence, or supplying unlicensed staff, is a criminal offence. When you hire West Haven Services Ltd, every officer on your site holds the licence their role requires.

Licences and compliance FAQs

How can I check a security officer's SIA licence?

You can check any licence on the SIA's public register of licence holders on GOV.UK, using the 16-digit licence number on the officer's card.

Does a Door Supervisor licence cover security guarding?

Yes. An SIA Door Supervisor licence also allows the holder to carry out security guarding. The reverse is not true: a Security Guard licence does not cover door supervision at licensed premises.

Is West Haven Services an SIA Approved Contractor?

We work to the standards expected by the SIA. If you need confirmation of a specific accreditation for a tender, ask us and we will provide our current documents.

Can I see your insurance certificate?

Yes. We can provide a copy of our insurance certificate with your quote or before the contract starts.
