Recorded footage is not enough
Most CCTV systems record everything but nobody watches. That footage helps after an incident, but it rarely stops one. A trained operator spots the warning signs early, follows suspects across cameras, directs guards or police to the right place and preserves evidence properly.
What our CCTV operators do
- Monitor live feeds in your control room or security office.
- Track suspicious behaviour across multiple cameras.
- Direct on-site officers or call the police with accurate descriptions.
- Log incidents and export footage in line with data protection rules.
- Carry out daily system checks and report faulty cameras.
Where CCTV operators make the difference
| Setting | What operators watch for | Works well with |
|---|---|---|
| Shopping centres and retail | Shoplifting, anti-social behaviour, lost children | Retail security |
| Corporate buildings | Access breaches, tailgating, out-of-hours movement | Corporate security |
| Construction sites | Intruders, vehicles after hours, plant theft | Site security |
| Events and venues | Crowd build-up, fights, ejections | Event security |
On-site control room or remote monitoring
Some sites need an operator in their own control room. Others are better served by cameras that send alerts to a monitoring team, who then dispatch a response officer. We advise which approach fits your site, cameras and budget, and we can pair monitoring with alarm response.

CCTV Operator & Monitoring FAQs
Do CCTV operators need an SIA licence?
Contracted operators who monitor public spaces, or who use CCTV to identify people or watch activity in a public area, need an SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence. All our CCTV operators are licensed.
Can you monitor our existing cameras?
In many cases, yes. We review your system to check camera coverage, image quality and recording before agreeing a monitoring plan.
Who can see our CCTV footage?
Only authorised staff, following your data protection policy. Footage should only be shared for a lawful purpose, such as with the police for an investigation.
Do you install CCTV systems?
We focus on operating and monitoring. If you need new cameras, we can advise on coverage and work alongside your installer.
